The Griffey Day Train Program

Day Train Component (9 Sessions)

Your dog will participate in 3 Day Train sessions per week over three weeks, totaling six sessions. Each Day Train session includes approximately three hours of focused training, including pick-up and drop-off where available.

Training Focuses on:

  • Leash walking and handling

  • engagement and neutrality building

  • Foundational obedience commands

  • Confidence building in new environments

Transportation and Scheduling

Day Trains are conducted Monday-Friday

North OC Dogs:

  • Owner drop-off or Trainer drop-off: 7:30am-2:00pm

  • Trainer pick-up/drop-off: 11:00am-2:00pm

  • Coverage area: Tustin through Buena Park

South OC Dogs:

  • Trainer pick-up and drop-off only: 7:30am-7:30pm

  • Coverage area: San Clemente through Irvine

Pick-up and drop-off availability depends on trainer routing and scheduling.

Private Lessons (3 Sessions/45 minutes each)

This program includes three 45-minute private coaching sessions designed to transfer your dog’s progress to the owner. These sessions focus on:

  • Leash Handling and communication

  • Reinforce structure and routines

  • Troubleshooting behavior challenges

  • Clear expectations and next steps

Group Class (1 Session)

One structured group class is included to help your dog practice calm behavior and obedience around mild distractions in a controlled environment.

Group classes are ONLY redeemable after the completion of the program and can be used within 3 months of graduation date.

What to expect each week

Week 1: Laying a Foundation + Building Trust

The first week is about relationship-building between trainer and dog. Your dog will be introduced to foundational commands such as: Sit, Down, Place, Heel, or others based on your goals. Training is done in low-distraction settings. The first private lesson will take place in-home to begin structure and routines.

Week 2: Engagement Under Distraction

We increase Distractions without overwhelming your dog. Verbal cues and leash communication are practiced and refined. The second private lesson will take place outdoors unless more foundational work is needed at home.

Week 3: Practice, Progress, and Full Transfer

Training is tested around real-world distractions. The third private lesson focuses on full transfer of obedience to the owner. The group class helps reinforce behavior around other dogs in a structured space.

Is this program right for reactive dogs?

This program is NOT designed for aggressive or severely reactive dogs. We recommend our A+ Day Train Program for best results.

How long are the Days Trains?

Each session lasts around 3 hours, including transportation (if applicable).

Are results guaranteed?

We guarantee ongoing support from our trainer and staff. Progress depends on breed, age temperament, consistency, and owner effort. Owners who follow the training plan, structure and avoid shortcuts will see the best outcome. If you commit to the plan, structure, and philosophy—we promise you’ll be in a much better place then when you started the program

Can I skip or reschedule sessions?

Do I need to be home for Day Trains?

Sessions must be completed within the programs timeline unless otherwise approved by trainer. This structure ensures consistency, momentum, and the best possible results for both the dog and owner.

No but you must participate in the private lessons.

Are your training programs refundable?

All training programs are non-refundable, whether in part or in full. Once a program is purchased, we reserve dedicated time, scheduling blocks, and resources specifically for your dog, which is why refunds are not offered.

What happens if I don’t schedule or complete my sessions in time?

Any sessions not scheduled or completed within the stated timeframes may be forfeited. Extensions are not guaranteed and are considered on a case-by-case basis.

Do you offer transportation for my dog?

Transportation is NOT guaranteed and is based on trainer availability, location, and daily routing. If transportation is available, it will be discussed and confirmed prior to scheduling.
